    Business Development and Proposal Manager

    Sarah Kayongo develops Connexi-based business strategies utilizing market trends and business opportunities, engages with clients to increase their Connexi-ROI, and leads Connexi proposal efforts to secure government and commercial contracts for services in global procurement and in-country logistics. She has more than 20 years of experience in business development, including spearheading efforts at Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), where she led the prepositioning, capture plan development, proposal development, and partnerships processes to increase VSO’s West Africa portfolio in education and health from $5 million to $25 million, based on investments from FCDO (formerly DFID), multiple U.N. agencies, GIZ, KfW, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Gavi, and The Global Fund, and $3 million in USAID-funded portfolio programs in agribusinesses, value chains, and microfinance. Additionally, she served as a donor relations specialist for CARE International, leading competitive bids to secure over $20 million in U.S.G. funding. As the Malawi country director for DHL International, she developed annual business plans that improved DHL’s competitive positioning and market share and as a chief operating officer for MedShare International she coordinated logistics of an in-kind inventory of medical supplies and equipment worth $30 million. Ms. Kayongo has a B.A. in business administration and management from Messiah College, an M.S. in economic development from Eastern University, and a Ph.D. in business administration from Georgia State University.
